This guide will take you through the steps of locating and configuring your tribe embed widget for your blog. If you encounter an issue and are unable to complete the setup, configuration and installation of your embed widget, please be sure to submit a support ticket and we will be happy to help you along the way.

Part ONE: Locating your Embed Widget


Step 1.

Access your blogger control panel. You can do so by clicking on your avatar from the top menu of Snapzu. Look for a black button called Wallet / Control Panel and click into it.



Step 2.

You will now be in your Blogger Control Panel Overview area. Look for the sub-tab called TRIBES, and click into it to show all of your active tribe communities.



Step 3.

You should now see a list of tribes. For those who are new, you may just have one tribe listed. Click on the Tribe Tools button within your tribe as shown in the below example to access your tribe tools > embed widget section.



Step 4.

You will now find yourself in the tribe tools > embed widget area where you can customize your widget and use the provided HTML code to embed it into your blog.




Part TWO: Configuring your Embed Widget


Step 1.

The first step is to configure your Display Options.



There are a total of 8 display options, use the check boxes to enable/disable them.


Hobbyist Options:


  1. Show tribe flag/icon on widget
    You can use this to toggle your tribe background banner/pattern or color as well as your tribe community flag. If you do not wish to show your tribe flag/banner, simply uncheck it.

  2. Show cover image thumbnail
    If you want the content within your widget to have an associated thumbnail with each post, simply have this enabled.

  3. Show comment count on widget
    Enabling this option will show a Discuss button if there is no comments or a X Comments if there are. Leave this option enabled if you want to provide your readers with quick access to discuss/leave comments.

  4. Show introductions
    Each piece of content within your widget will have a title and an introduction, if you do not wish to show a short introduction be sure to disable this option.


Professional Options:


  1. Allow users to switch sorting
    You can allow your readers to sort the content within your widget by Newest or Trending.

  2. Enable voting on widget
    This option will enable and display up/down voting arrows that will allow logged in members to vote on the content within your widget. This is very helpful as the community can help you show only the best content within your community tribe.

  3. Show tribe vote scores on widget
    Enabling this option will show the content score of each post based on the votes coming only from your community tribe. If you wish to only show the global score, be sure to disable this option.

  4. Disable "Powered by Snapzu" info
    If you wish to hide the Snapzu branding at the bottom of your tribe widget, be sure to enable this option. By default your widget will display the Snapzu branding.



Step 2.

The second step is to configure your Listing Options.



There are a total of 5 listing options, use the available settings to configure each one.


Hobbyist Options:


  1. Show Content
    Choose if you want to show content snaps (links to articles or snapzu hosted articles/images/videos), text posts (text based discussions) and or all.

  2. Default Sorting
    You can select if you wish your content to be sorted by "Newest" or "Trending".


Professional Options:


  1. View Type
    Choose if you would like your widget to show content in a list format or a grid format. The grid option will have larger images and a more visually expanded look and feel.

  2. Content Quality Threshold
    You can choose a minimum score required in order for content to be displayed within your widget. If your tribe is well established, you may want to set this to a higher score to only show the best content from your community.

  3. Number of links to show
    You can select how many links will show up in your widget, the more links you choose to display, the longer your widget will be.



Step 3

The second step is to configure your Style Options.



There are a total of 7 style options, use the available settings to configure each one.


Hobbyist Options:


  1. Font Face
    Select from a list of available google fonts to match your blog style.

  2. Font Size
    Select from Large, Medium (standard) and Small text size to match your blog style.

  3. Theme
    Select from a number of preconfigured Dark/Light color themes to match the tribe widget to your blog style.


Professional Options:


  1. Link Color
    Configure your widget to your exact color specifications by selecting your active link color.

  2. BG Color (Background)
    Configure your widget to your exact color specifications by selecting the background color of your widget.

  3. Intro Text Color
    Configure your widget to your exact color specifications by selecting the color of the introduction text of each content post.

  4. Text Color
    Configure your widget to your exact color specifications by selecting the color of the text within your tribe widget.




Part Three: Embedding your Embed Widget


Once you're happy with the display, listing and style options of your embed widget, you can then go ahead and copy the code available at the top of your Embed Widget configuration page and paste it into the sidebar HTML within your blog.

Once your code is pasted into your side bar HTML, you're all set!

Important: Your embed widget will automatically adjust to the width of your side bar based on its width. You can always return to your [Tribe Tools > Embed Widget Config] page to adjust your settings without the need to adjust the embed code within your blog.
